Arne Kristian Aas is a Senior Analyst at Tax Norway. Using a combination of individual based registry data and large scale randomized control trials, his current focus is on how to make self-employed individuals and businesses file their tax return forms on time with as mild an intervention as possible.

 

Being a labour market sociologist, he finds it necessary to combine quantitative analysis with asking the target groups why they do as they do in order to find mechanisms behind their actions (or, in the case of filing tax return forms, the lack thereof). His approach is more practical than theoretical. However, the work done by him and his colleagues has some theoretical implications with regards to which mechanisms are at play. Arne Kristian has also analysed a number of other topics, ranging from customer behaviour to immigrants integration on the Norwegian Labour market.
