Ian Wylie

Chief Superintendent, Avon and Somerset Constabulary 

 

 

Chief Superintendent Ian Wylie is head of the Standards, Culture and Ethics Department in Avon and Somerset Constabulary. His department has responsibility for management of all Professional Standard issues, Police Complaints and Misconduct issues as well as leading the Cultural Change Programme and embedding the Code of Ethics within the Constabulary.

 

Ian has twenty years policing experience having joined the police after completing both undergraduate and post graduate studies.  Ian has had service in both Kent Police and Avon and Somerset Constabulary and was part of the Accelerated Promotions Course which enabled him to reach Superintendent within twelve years.  He has serviced as a Superintendent in a variety of roles across the Constabulary managing operational challenges across Bristol and Somerset.

 

He maintains command responsibilities in respect of Firearms, Public Order and CBRN arenas. With effect Monday, 7 September 2015, Ian will be taking up the role of Somerset Area Policing Commander covering the Somerset East, Somerset West and North Somerset policing areas.
